Citizen science. A future-oriented vision with a human-to-human approach

The fields of neuroscience, semiotics, the social sciences, and artificial intelligence blend into a unique value-focused research programme aimed at reinforcing collective awareness.

In a world where the spaces between the virtual and physical are increasingly blurred, and where the realms of both human and artificial overlap, a new digital humanism is much needed. Pomilio Blumm's R&D activities build on this principle by merging cutting-edge disciplines and competences such as neuroscience and semiotics, the social sciences and data analysis, as well as anthropology and AI.

Inspired by this vision, a continuative R&D activity was developed by our Communicative Intelligence Accelerator in collaboration with world-renowned universities and some of the most visionary gurus.

CIA

Making sense for citizens. Our intelligence accelerator produces advanced analyses and tools

Based in Bologna, the Communicative Intelligence Accelerator is the core of our R&D activity. A team of experienced researchers, with our 4-member semiotic unit at its core, it ensures the full scientific and methodological consistency of each of our projects – implementing an average of 40 qualitative and quantitative analyses every year, and testing dozens of tools and procedures.

Think lab

Intelligence loves problems. An interdisciplinary hub for research on social communication

Think Lab is an open think tank devoted to the development of joint projects with some of the most important research centres worldwide, including Oregon University (the United States), the University of Bologna (Italy), Heriot-Wyatt University (the United Kingdom), and KU Leuven (Belgium). The Morality Map, Resilience Compass, and Trust Index are but some of the innovative tools that are currently being implemented by the lab.

Art lab

Avant-garde research. Logic is not as powerful as intuition

We believe that logic is a necessary step, yet, it is intuition that is the real added value. We believe that art is the best-kept secret lab, and that artists are the sharpest interpreters of a future society. This is the founding principle of the Art Lab and the Pomilio Blumm Prize tracking trends and exploring new languages through the unique lens of contemporary art and creativity.
