EU Leaders’ Retreat 2026
Pomilio Blumm designed and delivered the EU Leaders’ Retreat, the informal summit of European Union leaders dedicated to competitiveness, at Alden Biesen Castle, Belgium.
Hosted by the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, the meeting brought together the Heads of State or Government of the 27 Member States in a setting designed to encourage more open and direct exchanges, free from the traditional Brussels formalities. A 12-hour full immersion of exceptional intensity, distinct from conventional formats and supported by a comprehensive logistical and security framework.
Discussions focused on strengthening the Single Market, reducing economic dependencies and boosting Europe's competitiveness. The debate was enriched by contributions from Mario Draghi, author of the Report on the Future of European Competitiveness, and Enrico Letta, author of the High-Level Report on the Future of the Single Market. The retreat also explored the evolving global geoeconomic landscape and the European Union's internal strategic priorities.
